eBay Solutions Directory Ratings Guidelines and Policies
eBay members can help each other make better purchasing decisions by rating solutions or services listed in the eBay Solutions Directory. The rating scores and detailed reviews are a useful way to help determine whether a particular solution may meet others' needs. The ratings are important to the companies that provide the solutions since they may help more customers consider their solutions. Please use good judgment in your ratings as these become permanent records associated with each product's listing.

Solutions Directory Ratings Guidelines
Rating Scale:
  • 5 - Excellent
  • 4 - Good
  • 3 - Average
  • 2 - Poor
  • 1 - Bad

Solutions: Rate the application for the following:

  • Features: Rate the features and functionality available in the application. Did the application have all the features and functionality you needed?
  • Usability: Rate the user friendliness of the application. Did you find the application to be easy to use?
  • Support: Rate the support provided by the application provider. Was the application provider responsive to your requests for assistance?

Services: Rate for the following:

  • Met Expectations: Rate the implementation of the software development project or setup of the service. Did they deliver what they said they would and when?
  • Quality: Rate the software product or service that they delivered to you. How good was the product?
  • Value: Rate the usefulness of the service performed with regards to the price you paid for it. Was the service a good value?

In the Review Summary field give a brief description that summarizes your feedback.

In the Detailed Review field provide a detailed review that includes your experience with the product, including specific information about what you liked and didn't like.

Policies for Rating a Solution or Service

We require a minimum eBay feedback rating of 50 in order to post a rating to one of the Solutions Directory listings. Ratings received prior to the establishment of this policy will remain on the site. Your eBay username and feedback will be displayed next to your rating.

When sharing your opinion of a product or service, please observe the following do's and don'ts:

Do's
Be succinct, accurate, constructive and objective
Compare the product to other competing products (or to previous versions of this product) that you've used
Provide examples of how the product or its manufacturer did or did not meet your expectations
Don'ts
Don't use offensive language
Don't submit an opinion of the product if you don't own or have first-hand experience with it
Don't submit more than one rating of the product
Don't submit an opinion of a product or service if your company makes or resells a product that competes with it
Don't submit a rating of your own product or service unless you are a user of the product and you identify your relationship to the company
Don't submit any self-serving commercial links or comments
Rating Removal Policy
Ratings may be removed in certain circumstances, including the following:
eBay is provided with a valid court order finding that the disputed rating is slanderous, libelous, defamatory or otherwise illegal.
The rating comment contains profane, vulgar, obscene, or racist language or adult material.
The rating comment contains personal identifying information about another member, including real name, address, phone number, or email address.
The rating makes reference to an eBay, PayPal or law enforcement organization investigation.
The feedback comment contains links or scripts.
Ratings intended for another product or company will be considered for removal only in situations where the member responsible for the mistaken posting informs eBay of the error and has already placed the same feedback for the correct product or company.
Ratings left by a person ineligible to participate in eBay transactions, according to Section 1 of the eBay User Agreement, at the time of the transaction or the time the feedback was left.
Ratings left by an employee of a competing company solely to discredit the product or service of a competitor.
Ratings left by an employee of a company for their own product that does not identify the rater as an employee of the company.
