Package Weight

Specify the weight of your packaged item as accurately as possible so that the shipping costs displayed in your listing are accurate.

Important:Include the weight of the packaging material as well as the item itself; otherwise, you may underestimate the shipping cost.

To determine the weight, here are methods you can use, in order of precision:

Shipping scale:
Shipping scales are often available for sale on eBay; they are also free to use at most US Post Offices and UPS stores.

Bathroom or body weight scale:

  1. Step on the scale without the packaged item and record your own weight.

  2. Step on the scale with the packaged item and record this weight. Make sure the packaged item is centered over the scale.

  3. Subtract the weight you got in Step 1 from the weight you got in Step 2. The result is the approximate weight of the packaged item.
