Using different currencies on eBay

Learn how to change the currency eBay uses when calculating your bill. You can also access eBay's currency converter and find out how to change the currency shown in your search results.

How to change your billing currency

To make it easier to pay eBay fees, you can choose to be billed in a specific currency. Please read the information on this page before you change your billing currency. Once you're ready, go to the Switch Billing Currency page and select the appropriate currency from the drop-down menu.

The currencies you can select depend on which eBay site you used to register.

We accept the following currencies:

  • U.S. dollars (USD)

  • Australian dollars (AUD)

  • Euros (EUR)

  • Canadian dollars (CAD)

  • Pounds sterling (GBP)

  • Japanese yen (JPY)

  • Swiss francs (CHF)

Before you make the change

Before you can change your billing currency:

Your existing account balance must be current. Find out how to pay your balance.

√ You must not have switched your billing currency within the past 12 months.

√ Your registered address must be up to date. The payment method you can select depends on your country of residence. Find out how to update your address.

Note: If you want to change your billing currency to U.S. dollars, Canadian dollars, or Japanese Yen, you must have an automatic payment method in place.

To change your billing currency now, go to the Switch Billing Currency page and select the appropriate currency from the drop-down menu.

After you make the change

  • Once you change your billing currency, we'll open a new account linked to your current user ID that uses your new currency. Your user ID will not change.

  • After the change, all fees for new listings will be billed to your new currency account. Additional fees for active listings (for example, if a listing ends and you are charged a final value fee) are charged to the original currency account.

  • Your original account will be considered "pending" and needs to be kept current or it will become delinquent if it is not paid in full within two billing cycles.

  • You will receive separate invoices for the two accounts until the original account is paid in full.

  • If you qualify for a PowerSeller discount, and need to change your PowerSeller billing currency, you should change the currency on the first day of the billing cycle to receive the discount in the new currency.
