Selling Manager: Using the active view
In this article

The Active view in Selling Manager and Selling Manager Pro displays all items you're selling on eBay. When a listing ends, it's moved to your Sold or Unsold view, depending on whether the listing had a buyer.

Additional functions for creating products and templates are available to Selling Manager Pro subscribers including:

Listing a similar item

To help you save time, Selling Manager and Selling Manager Pro let you list a copy of one or more of your listings so that you can re-use information that you've already created.

If you use Selling Manager Pro, you can also save a listing as a template from the Promote and Review Your Listing page.

To create a similar item:
  1. Select the listing(s) you want to copy. To see one specific group of listings, use the search box. To choose all your active listings, click Title in the heading bar above your listings.

  2. From the Action drop-down menu, select Sell Similar.

  3. On the Create Your Listing page, review all the details of the new listing.

  4. Click the Continue button.

  5. On the Review Your Listing page check to see if you need to make further changes, then click the Edit listing button.

  6. Click the List Your Item button.

If your item is associated with products from our catalog, you'll be offered product details to add to you listing. These details make your listing more complete, more appealing to buyers, and easier for buyers to find. Durations of longer than 7 days can incur a fee and there can be a change to some upgrade and insertion fees. Your listing fee subtotal is shown at the bottom of the Create your listing form and on the Review your listing page.

If your item doesn't sell and you relist it, you may be able to get an insertion fee credit (this doesn't apply to fixed price listings).

Revising listings

The information you can revise in your active listing depends on how much time is left before the listing ends and whether or not you've received any bids.

For auction-style listings: If your item has no bids, and doesn't end within 12 hours, you can revise anything in your listing except the selling format. For example, you can't change an auction-style listing to an eBay Stores listing.

If your auction-style listing has received no bids but ends within 12 hours, you can't change the primary category or secondary category, and can't remove any pictures. However, you can add a second category.

If your auction-style listing has already received a bid or ends within 12 hours, you can only:

  • Add to the item description.

Exception: If your listing ends within 12 hours and has a bid, you can't add to your description or add a second category.

  • Add optional upgrades to increase your item's visibility.

For fixed price listings:
You can make changes to your single-quantity fixed price listing until the item sells.

To revise a multi-quantity fixed price listing: You can change the item description, pictures, shipping, payment information, and any upgrades whether or not your item has a sale.

You can change any information on a multi-quantity fixed price listing after a sale except:

  • Duration

  • Category

  • Title

  • Format

  1. From the Action drop-down menu, select Revise.

  2. In the Revise your item form, enter your changes.

  3. Click the Save Changes button.

Note: If your fixed priced listing has a pending Best Offer there are limited changes you can make. We recommend that you accept or reject the offers before revising your listing.

To revise multiple listings at once:
  1. Select the listing(s) you want to revise.

If you are using Selling Manager or Selling Manager Pro, you can search for a specific group of listings, enter the keywords, select what you want to search in (item title, item description, etc.) and then click the Search button.

Note: To revise all your active listings, select the check box next to the Title link in the heading bar above the listings.

  2. Click the Edit button.

  3. Specify the information you want to edit on the Edit Listings: Listing Information page.

  4. To make changes to individual listings, click the Edit individual listings button.

  5. To make the same changes to all the selected listings according to selling format, click the Edit listings in bulk button.

  6. Click the Continue button.

  7. Modify your listings and click the Continue button.

  8. Review your changes on the Edit Listings: Review & Submit page.

  9. If you like the changes you've made, click the Submit button. If you need to make more changes, click the Back button.

If your item is associated with products from our catalog, you may be offered product details. These details make your listing more complete, more appealing to buyers, and easier for buyers to find. For listing multiple items in bulk, we'll guide you through the process one item at a time.

Durations of more than 7 days may incur a fee and there can be a change to some upgrade and insertion fees. Your listing fee subtotal appears in the Your fees so far section at the bottom of the editing and reviewing forms.

Adding to an item description

If your listing doesn't have a bid and the listing doesn't end within 12 hours (for auction-style listings), you can add text to an item description. You won’t be able to edit existing text.

To add to a listing description:
  1. From the Action drop-down menu, select Add to Description.

  2. Enter the additional item description text, and then click the Save Changes button.

Note: If your fixed price or Store inventory listings have pending Best Offers, you need to respond to the offers before you can add to the item description in the listing.

Ending a listing

In some cases, you can end your listing before the scheduled end date.

To end a listing:
  1. From the Action drop-down menu, select End Item.

  2. Select the reason for ending your listing early and click the End My Listing button. The reason appears on the Closed Item page. The listing now appears in My eBay in the Ended Listings section under Listing Activity.

Adding notes

You can save personal comments that only you can view for any item in Selling Manager or Selling Manager Pro.

To add a note:
  1. Select the listings to which you want to add a note.

If you are using Selling Manager or Selling Manager Pro, you can search for a specific group of listings, enter the category, description, status, or format, and then click the Select button. To add notes to all of your active listings, click the Title link in the heading bar above the listings.

  2. Click the Add Note button and enter your text.

  3. Click the Save button.

The note will appear below the listing in Selling Manager or Selling Manager Pro.

If you use multi-quantity, fixed price listings, you may be able to revise the listing after a sale. However, you won't be able to change the format, duration, category, or title of the listing.

If you have purchases on your multi-quantity, fixed price listings, you can see the purchases, and information on the listing at the time of purchase, from the Purchase history page. Buyers can see only the item they purchased from the Order details page.
