Selling Manager – Using the Active View

The Active view in Selling Manager and Selling Manager Pro displays all items you're selling on eBay. When a listing reaches its End Time, it's moved to your Sold or Unsold view, depending on whether the listing had a buyer or not.

From the Active view, you can:

Listing a similar item

Both Selling Manager and Selling Manager Pro allow you to list a copy of one or more of your listings. This saves you time, and you can re-use information that's working well in other listings. You can also save a listing as a template on the Promote and Review Your Listing page.

To create a similar item:
  1. Select the listing(s) you want to copy. (To see one specific group of items, use the search box. To choose all your active items, select the Title box in the heading bar above your listings.)

  2. From the Action column drop-down menu, select Sell Similar.

  3. The Create Your Listing page appears - here's where you'll see the details of the listing you selected.

  4. Review all the details of the new listing.

  5. Click the Continue button.

  6. The Review Your Listing page appears. Take another look, and if you need to make further changes, click "Edit listing."

  7. Click the List Your Item button on the "Review your listing" page.

As you're listing, if your item is associated with products from our catalog, you may be offered product details. These make your listing more complete, more appealing to buyers, and easier for buyers to find. For listing multiple items in bulk, we may guide you through the process one item at a time.

Durations of longer than seven days may incur a fee and change some upgrade and insertion fees. Your listing fee subtotal appears in the “Your fees so far” section at the bottom of the "Create your listing" form and again under “Review your listing."

If your item doesn't sell and you relist it, you may be able to get an insertion fee credit (this doesn't apply to Fixed Price listings).

Revising a listing

The information you can revise in your active listing depends on how much time is left before the listing ends and whether or not you've received any bids.

If your item has no bids, Best Offers, or sales, and doesn't end within 12 hours, you can revise anything in your listing except the selling format (for example, you can't change an auction-style listing to an eBay Stores listing).

If your item has already received a bid/purchase, or Best Offer, or ends within 12 hours, you can only:

  • Add to the item description. (Exception: If your listing already has a bid/purchase and ends within 12 hours, you can't add to your description or add a second category.)

  • Add optional upgrades to increase your item's visibility.

To revise a single listing:

  1. From the Action column pull-down list, select Revise.

The "Revise your item" form opens. The item number is filled in for you.

  2. Complete your changes and click the Save Changes button.

To revise multiple listings at once:
  1. Select the listing(s) you want to revise. (To see one specific group of items, use the search box. To revise all of your active items, select the Title box in the heading bar above your listings.)

  2. Click the Edit button.

  3. Specify the information you want to edit in your listings on the Edit Listings: Listing Information page.

  4. Select “Edit listings individually” to make changes to each individual listing.

    –or–

Select “Edit listings in bulk” to make the same changes to all of the listings (according to their selling format).

  5. Click the Continue button.

If you selected “Edit listings individually,” the Edit Listings: Edit Individual Listings page appears.

If you selected the “Edit listings in bulk” option, the Edit Listings: Edit Listings in Bulk page appears.

  6. Modify your listings and click the Continue button.

  7. Review your changes on the Edit Listings: Review & Submit page.

  8. If you like the changes you've made, click the Submit button. If you need to make more changes, click the Back button.

As you're revising, if your item is associated with products from our catalog, you may be offered product details. These make your listing more complete, more appealing to buyers, and easier for buyers to find. For listing multiple items in bulk, we may guide you through the process one item at a time.

Durations of more than seven days may incur a fee and change some upgrade and insertion fees. Your listing fee subtotal appears in the “Your fees so far” section at the bottom of the editing and reviewing forms.

Adding to an item description

If you don't have a bid and the listing doesn't end within 12 hours, you can add text to an item description. (You won’t be able to edit existing text, though.)

To add to a listing description:

  1. From the Action column pull-down menu, select "Add to Description." The Add to Description form opens.

  2. Enter the additional item description text and click the Save Changes button.

Ending a listing

If you need to, you can end your listing before the scheduled end date.

To end a listing:

  1. From the Action column pull-down menu, select End Item. The End My Auction Early page opens.

  2. Select a reason for ending your listing early and click the End My Listing button. The reason appears on the Closed Item page. The listing now appears when you click the Ended Listings link in the My Summary view.

Adding notes

You can save personal comments for any item in Selling Manager or Selling Manager Pro.

To add a note:

  1. Select the listings to which you want to add a note. (To see one specific group of items, use the search box. To add notes to all of your active items, select the Title box in the heading bar above your listings.)

  2. Click the Add Note button and enter your text.

  3. Click the Save button.

The note will appear below the item in Selling Manager or Selling Manager Pro. (Only you can see your notes.)
