Checking on PayPal payments sent to you

If a buyer has paid you for an eBay item using PayPal, you can check the status of the payment from My eBay. Once your payment appears in your PayPal account you can withdraw it in several ways.

If you need more information, please contact PayPal.

Checking the status of a PayPal payment

To check the status of a PayPal payment:
  1. Sign in to eBay.

  2. Click My eBay at the top of most eBay pages.

  3. Click the Sold link in the Sell section on the left side of the page.

  4. Locate the item you want to check and click the item title.

  5. Click the View PayPal Transaction link at the top of the next page. You may need to sign into your PayPal account.

On the PayPal Transaction Details page, you can see the status of the payment, as well as the amount and when it was sent. If your payment is pending or being held by PayPal, find out why.

Note: If your transaction happened more than 60 days ago, it will no longer be available on My eBay. However, if you know the buyer's email address, you may be able to find the payment information using PayPal's History page. On the History page, be sure to include the date of the transaction in the date range you're searching.

How long will it take for the money to appear in my account?

When a buyer sends you a payment through PayPal, the money is usually available in your PayPal account right away. However, in some cases, the payment might be "pending" for a few days, or it might be held by PayPal for up to 21 days. Find out more about pending payments.

How can I get money out of my PayPal account?

Once the payment has appeared in your PayPal balance, you can withdraw your money.
