Second Chance offers are available for listings within Cars & Trucks, Motorcycles, or Other Vehicles categories on eBay Motors that did not meet the reserve price. Sellers can extend an offer for the vehicle to any one of the bidders with a Buy It Now price equal to or less than the original auction's reserve price. You can choose not to receive Second Chance Offers by changing your notification preferences for Buying emails.

Important: Marketplace Safety Tip

There are multiple ways to ensure that a Second Chance Offer is legitimate:

1. Go to www.ebay.com, sign in, and click My eBay. The Second Chance Offer email appears in My Messages. Legitimate Second Chance Offers are forwarded directly from eBay and appear in My Messages with a green background and subject stating, “You have a second chance offer”.

2. If you receive a Second Chance Offer, it will be reflected on the closed View Item page as a message that there is "an offer waiting for you". You can then click on the Second Chance Offer link to view the details and make a purchase.

3. A Second Chance Offer message alert will also be displayed at the top of any eBay page when you sign in to remind you that you have an offer about to expire.

4. Go directly to Second Chance Offers details in My eBay All Buying > Items I didn't Win. Select the Second Chance Offers filter and click on the Buy It Now link to purchase the item.

5. eBay will never send a Second Chance Offer email with the subject line "Message from eBay Member." If you receive an email pretending to be a Second Chance Offer with that subject line, it's a fake. Forward the email to spoof@ebay.com.
