To sign in to your eBay account you need both your eBay user ID and your eBay password. If you forget your eBay password, you need to provide your user ID.

However, if you cannot remember your eBay user ID, go to the Forgot Your User ID page, and enter the email address you registered with eBay. eBay will send your user ID to that email address.

If you know your registered email address is no longer valid, or you can no longer access email sent to this address, eBay cannot automatically retrieve your user ID. Please contact us by email or use Live Help to contact Customer Support. The "Live help" link is located at the top of the eBay.com Home page.

If your email address on eBay is current and you do not receive email from eBay with your user ID, do the following:

• Please wait a few minutes to allow your email system to process the message.

• Check to see if your inbox is full. If it is full, delete some email so that you can receive new ones. After deleting email, go to the Forgot Your User ID page and ask eBay to resend your user ID.

• If you have a bulk mail or junk mail folder, check that folder for the email.

• If you still haven't received the user ID, contact us by email or click on the "Live help" link at the top of the eBay.com Help page.

User IDs and registration

• When you are asked to complete the registration process, this means that you need to confirm your account. You will need access to your email in order to receive the confirmation code to complete this task. If you did not receive this email or need it sent to you again, please ask eBay to resend your registration email. To ask an eBay Customer Support representative to help you through the registration process, click the “Live help” link, located on the eBay.com Home page. The confirmation email we send will have the confirmation code and the location you need to enter it. Once this step is complete, your account is activated.

• eBay does not allow a user ID to be associated with more than one eBay account. To obtain a new eBay account you will need to register for a new user ID.

• If you have purchased an item as a guest you will not have an eBay user ID. To obtain a user ID, you will need to register on eBay.

  AOL/CompuServe users: Make sure your Mail Controls are set to receive emails from the Internet. If you have Internet email blocked, change your Mail Controls by entering the keyword Mail Controls on AOL or CompuServe. After changing your Mail Controls, ask eBay to resend your registration email.
