Who is MissionFish and how is eBay working with them? MissionFish is a service of the Points of Light Foundation. A nonprofit organization, MissionFish has been helping other nonprofits turn in-kind donations into unrestricted funding since 2000. Do eBay Giving Works listings appear with all other eBay listings? Yes, all items listed through the Giving Assistant, provided by MissionFish, will be displayed with all other listings on eBay. eBay Giving Works listings will also appear within the eBay Giving Works site and on the Nonprofit Homepage on MissionFish. Are there any special requirements to use the Giving Assistant provided by MissionFish? eBay Giving Works is available to sellers who have a feedback rating of 10 or more or who are ID Verified. What are the fees associated with eBay Giving Works (charity) listings? There are three kinds of fees for eBay Giving Works listings: (1) Processing fees paid to MissionFish, (2) Listing fees paid to eBay and (3) Fees paid to banks and other payment processors. Fees vary based on whether a nonprofit is selling items themselves, or whether an individual seller is listing so they can donate to a charity. 7. What if my favorite nonprofit is not listed with MissionFish? If your favorite nonprofit is not listed with MissionFish, you can recommend that they sign up and join or you can submit their information to MissionFish after eBay Giving Works launches. MissionFish will send an automatic email invitation to the nonprofit on your behalf. 8. How are donations collected and distributed to nonprofits? MissionFish will have the sole responsibility of collecting donations from sellers and redistributing them to the benefiting nonprofits. When you register on MissionFish to list an eBay Giving Works item, you will create a seller account and put your credit card on file the same way you do on eBay. After your listing closes, you are invited to make your contribution through the MissionFish payment interface. If you have not made your contribution by the second Monday following the successful close of your listing, MissionFish will charge your credit card for the designated amount, hold your donation to ensure the finality of the sale, and forward your gift (net a small processing fee) to the recipient nonprofit on the 20th of the second month after your listing has successfully closed. 9. Will I receive a tax receipt for my donation? A receipt for every contribution you make through eBay Giving Works will be available in your MissionFish account. |
