About seller donations

While nonprofits value all gifts they receive, it does take resources for them to process these donations. However, we understand that you might want to use eBay Giving Works even when your item is likely to sell for a small amount. If your item sells for less than $10 your donation will automatically be $1.
Although it is a nonprofit, MissionFish does have to spend money to screen new nonprofits, process each donation, keep their technology up and running (and constantly improve it!), provide training and customer support to nonprofits, and hire and maintain a small, but top-notch staff that works hard behind the scenes to help us bring you eBay Giving Works. In order to help offset the costs they incur in helping us run the program, MissionFish deducts a small amount from each donation they process from individuals and businesses (they do not deduct from donations that result from nonprofit Direct Selling).
The table below shows how we determine the amount deducted from donations.

| $200-$999.99 | 20% of the initial $49.99 donated ($10) + 15% of the initial $50-$199.99 donated ($32.50) + 10% of remaining donation |
| $1,000-$4,999.99 | 20% of the initial $49.99 donated ($10) + 15% of the initial $50-$199.99 donated ($32.50) + 10% of initial $200-$999.99 ($112.50) + 5% of remaining donation |
| $5,000+ | 20% of the initial $49.99 donated ($10) + 15% of the initial $50-$199.99 donated ($32.50) + 10% of initial $200-$999.99 ($112.50) + 5% of initial $1,000-$4,999.99 ($312.50) + 3% of remaining donation |
Please note that while there is a small deduction made from the donation, 100% of that donation amount is tax-deductible. MissionFish will never deduct more than 20% ($1 of a $5 donation) of any donation.
