  For pictures that have different proportions than our Gallery photo, the extra area was historically filled in with a black color. We have changed this to be white in order to make the images appear brighter and stand out on the Search and Browse pages even more.  We have also increased the sharpness setting of the Gallery pictures. The result has been crisper and clearer images of items.
