Checkout is a consistent process for purchasing items on the site, including auction-style listings, Buy-It-Now listings, and Store fixed-price listings. It helps you get paid faster and reduces the number of e-mails you'll need to send. Checkout is FREE for both sellers and buyers. Checkout Details Specifying Checkout Details lets your buyers pay immediately after the auction. If you enter the details, eBay will automatically calculate the total for your buyer in Checkout!1. Shipping & Handling - If you have a fixed charge for shipping, please provide it here. If you are listing a multiple-item (Dutch) listing, provide shipping costs for additional items in case a buyer buys more than one item from you. Please be sure to specify in the Checkout Instructions field the method(s) you will use to ship the item to the buyer. If you do not know the shipping amount or have more complicated shipping policies, you can use the Checkout Instructions field to explain your shipping policies to buyers. 2. Insurance - Choose if insurance is required, optional, or not offered. If it is required or optional, make sure you specify the amount to be charged for each item. If you do not want to offer insurance, make sure you select "Not Offered." 3. Sales Tax - You can select a sales tax rate to charge in a state. Also, select whether you want to include Shipping & Handling in tax computation. The sales tax will only be applied for buyers who have a shipping address in the state you specify. Please note: This calculation is a service only and in no way obligates eBay, Billpoint or any of its subsidiaries to remit such tax on your behalf. You are solely responsible for the calculation and remittance of any taxes owed to any governmental entity based on your eBay activities. If you find that the Checkout Details you specify are not appropriate for a winning bidder or buyer, you will be able to update the terms later. Go to the Seller Tutorial. Checkout Instructions & Return Policy Use this field to specify your payment terms, return policy, discounts, etc. Buyers will see this information during the listing, in Checkout, and in the End of Auction email. This field allows up to 500 characters and supports text only.Allow Buyers to Edit/Enter Total This feature allows the buyer to edit the final price when the auction ends. It is OPTIONAL.You might use this for several reasons: For example, if you have complex shipping options and would like the buyer to select from your shipping options, or if you offer multiple item discounts which buyers can choose based on their purchase behavior. If you enable this feature, make sure to specify Checkout Instructions. These will be displayed prominently to buyers anywhere they can enter the total to pay. If a buyer pays too little in Checkout, you can ask him or her to pay the additional amount through any payment method. If the buyer paid through eBay Payments, you can add the extra amount in an eBay Payments invoice. A link to send this invoice is available on the Checkout Summary page or in your My eBay Payments account. Go to the Seller Tutorial. International Buyers If the "Edit Total" option is off, international buyers will need to request the total in Checkout. Since shipping and other costs vary widely for buyers in other countries, you'll be able to specify the right total for each buyer. If the "Edit Total" option is turned on, international buyers can enter the amount to pay you in Checkout. See the "Edit Total" option above for more information. Seller Payment Address Your Payment Address will be displayed to buyers in Checkout if they choose to pay by check or money order. The Payment Address you enter will be used for all of your items. Select the "Save Time…" option if you don't want to see this on the Sell Your Item form each time you list.Checkout FAQ Checkout Seller Tutorial Checkout Buyer Tutorial | |||||||
