This year eBay Live! celebrated its 5th anniversary in the most fun and exciting city in the world-Las Vegas! On the first day everyone gathered together to begin three days of educational sessions, discussions, and labs. That first day ended with a colorful opening keynote presented by Meg Whitman, President and CEO, and Bill Cobb, President North America. They were also joined by special guest Davy Jones of the 70s rock band 'The Monkees' for some impromptu music and a fun tribute to the highly successful eBay "IT" campaign.
On Wednesday, in addition to a full educational schedule, John Donahoe, President of eBay Marketplaces, led a fascinating Innovation Chat which gave all attendees a chance to see and hear what new developments are changing the Internet, e-commerce, and online Communities.
Finally, on Thursday, attendees had the chance to attend an interactive Town Hall Meeting with Bill Cobb where everyone got the opportunity to hear a detailed question and answer session designed to give eBay feedback from all its Community members. Right after, many attendees joined an Ice Cream Social and Book Signing with Jerry Greenfield of Ben & Jerry's fame.
Last but not least, the 2006 Conference closed Thursday night with a huge Gala dinner and party. Everyone got to mingle with eBay employees and executives, talk about what they had learned at the event, enjoy drinks and a wonderful meal, and rock to a private concert with Huey Lewis & the News.
Whether it was meeting new people, talking with eBay executives like Meg Whitman, Bill Cobb, and Jim "Griff" Griffith, chatting with business celebs like Jerry Greenfield and Guy Kawasaki, finding eBay event collectibles, or enjoying the energy of Las Vegas, eBay Live! 2006 brought everyone together to celebrate and learn.
