  5. Can users expect additional fee increases later this year?
We continually evaluate the cost of doing business and may increase fees if the business necessitates it. Naturally, as we introduce or upgrade features to the sites, there may be charges associated with the use of these features. If we apply additional fees we will notify users as prescribed in the User Agreement.

  6. Why is eBay charging a fee for Buy It Now?
Like other optional features for which we charge, Buy It Now provides added item promotion through the Buy It Now icon. Charging for the feature supports the health of the marketplace. In addition, we plan to introduce site changes in the near future that will increase the visibility and value of the Buy it Now feature.

  7. Doesn't increasing the Final Value Fee discourage those sellers who are traditionally successful?
Over the past few years eBay has invested heavily in customer support, technology infrastructure, and marketing to continue to help build and support the growing eBay marketplace. This increase will help us to continue to develop and grow the marketplace. This is also the first increase in Final Value Fees in over five years.

  8. If I submit a Mister Lister batch before January 31st, but don't confirm the listings until after January 31st, which Final Value Fee or Buy It Now Fee will I be charged?
The new fee will be charged for any listing made after January 31st. Fees are not charged until the listing confirmation notice is generated, so the Mister Lister batch confirmed after January 31st will be assessed the new Final Value Fees when successful.

  9. How will the change to the Dutch Final Value Fee calculation impact my Final Value Fees?
The standard Final Value Fee schedule will be applied to each item sold, not to the total dollar amount of the items sold.

    Current New
First $25.00 of total is charged 5%
Next $975 of total is charged 2.5%
Remainder of total above $1000 is
    charged 1.25%
First $25.00 of each item sold is charged 5.25%
Next $975 of each item is charged 2.75%
Amount of each item above $1000 is
    charged 1.5%

    So, if a seller sold 10 items at $100 (total sale $1000) the new fee will be: 5.25% x $25.00 = $1.31 + 2.75% x $75.00 = $2.06 x 10 = $33.70.
