Automotive categories
eBay would like your help! As we build the Automotive section of our site, we want to ensure it suits your needs. We have some ideas about building out these categories, but before we do, we wanted to get your thoughts.
Here's what we were thinking:
First, we want to bring all of the categories related to vehicles, under one top level category, called "Automotive." From that point we feel that it makes sense to separate out categories for "collector automotive" from "general automotive." With this in mind, we have established the Showroom area, which is designed for collectors and their cars.
Here are some of our category ideas. Your input will really help drive our direction! Please take a look and provide comments.
Under the "General Automotive" area:
- Compact
- Convertible
- Exotics
- Luxury
- Motorcycles
- Harley Davidson
- Japanese
- English
- American
- Minivans/Station Wagons
- RVs
- Passenger
- Pick-Up Trucks
- Sports Cars
- Sport Utility Vehicle
- Parts
- Accessories
Under the "Collector Automotive" area:
- Antiques (pre 1926)
- Customized
- Exotics
- Hot Rods
- Motorcycles
- Muscle Cars
- Roadsters
- Trucks
- Parts
- Accessories
Under Automobilia (which is collectible automotive memorabilia):
- License Plates
- Auto Racing
Please let us know what you think. It helps to know what you like, and what you don't like. It helps even more if we understand why it makes sense to youhere are some questions to consider...
- Do you like the collector/ non-collector division?
- Should Automobilia be kept separately under collectibles, as it is today, or brought under the "Automotive" umbrella? Where does it fit in?
- What do you think of this list?
- Is this the way you think of these categories? Why or why not?
- Does it make sense to you (as a buyer/ as a seller)?
- What additional categories do you think we need?
- Should some of these be combined?
- Should some of these be separated?
