Fall Postage Stamp Mega Event Returns to Javits Center The American Stamp Dealers Association, United States Postal Service and the American Philatelic Society are happy to once again invite the collectors of the New York City area and beyond to the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center's Galleria/River Pavilion for the annual Fall Postage Stamp Mega Event, to be held November 18-21, 1999. As collectors have come to expect, the Fall Postage Stamp Mega Event will feature an almost infinite variety of philatelic material for sale from over 100 ASDA stamp dealers, the United States Postal Service and dozens of foreign postal administrations and agencies. Collectors visiting the Fall Postage Stamp Mega Event will be able to increase their philatelic knowledge not only through the full series of lectures and seminars that will be scheduled throughout the Event but also through interaction with the many societies and philatelic clubs that will be present. eBay will be in booth numbers 341-343 to answer questions and demonstrate the use of eBay to enhance your stamp collecting experience. eBay will also be giving two seminars on Saturday: eBay 101 An Introductory Guide to Buying and Selling on eBay and Using eBay to Grow your Business. These seminars are free; refreshments will be served. Taking place on Thursday, November 18 will be the United States Postal Service's First Day Ceremony celebrating the release of their 1970's Celebrate the Century stamps featuring Disco, the U.S. Bicentennial and other popular '70's subjects. All attendees of the Ceremony will receive a free First Day Ceremony Program. Also taking place on Thursday, November 18 will be the United Nations Postal Administration's First Day Ceremony celebrating the release of their "Education Keystone to the 21st Century" stamps and their 1999 Annual Collection Folders. Philatelists should be sure to bring their children to the ever-expanding Kid's Area, which will showcase the latest efforts of the ASDA-USPS-APS partnership to promote philately amongst the youth of America through computers, basic philatelic techniques and other fun activities.
