Major Toy Licensee Mattel Presents Plush, Action Figures

By Sharon Korbeck

There's nothing like good old head-butting, slingshot-shooting fun, especially when it involves bugs.

Mattel's line of A Bug's Life action figures makes the most of action accessories like slingshots, hang gliders, a trampoline and battle wagons.

This Giant Light-Up Anthill will please any insect enthusiast.

The small action figures (around $6 retail) include Hang Glider Flik, Inventor Flik, Warrior Flik, Princess Atta, Tuck and Roll, Enemy Hopper, Enemy Molt and Francis and Slim (a walking stick and beetle duo). Larger accessories include a Battle Bird vehicle, Circus Battle Wagon and Giant Light-Up Anthill play set.

Flik flies through the air as part of Mattel's Air Bugs line.

For more action, Mattel presents the Air Bugs assortment. When a cord is pulled, the movie characters soar over 10 feet in the air ($9.99 retail).

Talking dolls are also part of Mattel's line. Talking Princess Dot is a purple plush ($29.99) that says dozens of movie phrases. Talking Flik is not plush, but talks when his acorns are pushed.

Aren't they cute? Flik, Atta and Dot will be made as poseable Bean Bag plush.

Mattel's Bugs Bunch are plush, poseable Bean Bag versions of Flik, Atta and Dot.
