Starting on the Memorial Day Weekend, a bright green bus and a friendly cabin sporting the eBay logo have been appearing at popular events where Americans gather to enjoy the summer. At events like the Indy 500, the Nashville Country Music Fan Fair, and the Taste of Chicago, they are bringing eBay closer to the heart of America. They're part of Camp eBay – a summer-long opportunity for learning about eBay, shopping, winning, and having a great time in the best summer camp tradition.

Camp eBay's "Learn. Shop. Win" theme has struck a chord with millions of Americans this summer. At every event people have been flocking to Camp eBay's Troop Leaders to learn how to use eBay, find great deals and earn chances to instantly win one of over 500,000 prizes.

The bus serves as a mobile classroom that offers a 15-minute course on buying and selling. A man who took the class at the Taste of Chicago event said, "You learn so much in such a little amount of time. I've been wanting to learn how to sell on eBay, but just never found the time!"

The cabin is home to demos, kiosks and looped video strories from eBay members. Every visitor gets an Instant Win game card that offers the chance to win more than $750,000 in cash and prizes when they become a registered eBay member. At eBay you're always sure to find something unexpected – at The Taste of Chicago event, a middle-aged gentleman visited the Camp eBay cabin with his family and asked a Troop Leader for help on finding a rare soundtrack. He'd been looking for it for years, but didn't know where to start. After learning from the Troop Leader how to search the site, he was amazed at how easily he found the soundtrack. And it was cheaper than he expected! He was so excited that he registered on eBay and PayPal, bought the album and paid for it, right there, in the Camp eBay Cabin! "What a great post-Father's Day gift!" he told his family, adding that the easy experience had made him an eBay member for life.

Other heart-warming stories like this show just how much eBay is part of people's lives. For instance, at the Indy 500, several people had actually financed their trip and tickets to the race by selling items on eBay. Many others had purchased their race tickets on eBay.

A woman came all the way from Kansas City to the Nashville Country Music Fan Fest, to enjoy the music and also to pick up the car she had recently purchased on eBay Motors! There were a number of country music fans from Europe who were avid eBay users in the Netherlands, Germany and England.

Camp eBay has been a great venue for eBay members – new as well as avid users – to meet and learn from each other. The Camp eBay team estimates that they've interacted directly with over 100,000 people this summer.

In addition to iconic events like the Indy 500 and the Nashville Country Music Fan Fair, Camp eBay is also doing the rounds of the summer concert circuit, bringing eBay to fans of performers as diverse as Jessica Simpson and Ozzy Osbourne.
