How to Have FUN at eBay Live It's hard to believe, but the third annual eBay Live! conference is just around the corner. There's less than two months 'til we meet up in New Orleans. I look forward to meeting with everyone again. If you haven't attended before, I can't begin to tell you how energizing the conference can be. It's like the grandest family reunion of all. With so much to do and so much to see, I thought I would share some of our members' strategies for getting the most out of the conference. See you in New Orleans! "My best advice is two fold...wear comfortable shoes...your feet will thank you...and if you are going with or meeting up with a group...make sure every one has cell phones/numbers...I kept losing my group last year because we had different agendas and the cell phones were a life saver." "Go into LIVE expecting to have fun. If you don't, it's nobody's fault but your own. "Meet as many people as you can. The eBay staff are all friendly and helpful. They want you to learn the site and what it can do for you. But brush up on your eBay history, 'cause they'll hit you up with a trivia question or two which might earn you a goody. "Meet other eBay members. A great deal of what a person needs to learn to expand their business... or find better deals in buying... someone else already knows. There is an unlimited amount of information in 12,000+ members heads. Tap them for all you can. And share what you know. Networking is encouraged by eBay and is good for everyone. You might even make a sale or two." "Go ready to have a ball!!!! If you have not already done so (and why not if you haven't...LOL) join some of the Groups here on eBay. That way you will make new friends online that you can hook up with at the convention. "Don't be shy... you will be amongst thousands of people with whom you will have much in common... and almost everyone is happy to talk to and network with you. "Take an extra little bag along to take home all of the goodies. "Go with an idea towards any new service products you may be considering. This will help you have a "game plan" for talking to vendors on the exhibition floor." Expect the unexpected. "Don't be in a hurry, relax and enjoy. And most of all take time to really see the people around you. If someone is alone, looks confused, or is having some trouble, take time to stop and see if you can help/point them in the right direction. And most of all be courteous to those in wheelchairs--remember the little things you do are the most remembered by the recipients and yourself." |
