Have you Been to eBay Live!?

Did you go to the first eBay Live! in Anaheim? Or to the second one in Orlando? Whether you answer "yes" or "no" to one or both, make sure not to miss eBay Live! 2004 this year in New Orleans. If you sign up early, you can save on your registration fees. It's time to start making plans!

The first event in Anaheim was both incredible and monumental. For the first time ever, buyer and sellers in the Community met with each other and with eBay staff, spending three glorious, activity-packed days together. Many vendors came to show off their wares, too. We were on the go from early in the morning to late at night, at official functions and at informal gatherings. There was so much excitement, you could feel it in the air!

A big hit, of course, was the Pink Lounge.. That was the designated place to meet the Pinks (the eBay staff who oversee and post on the boards), meet other board "regulars" (members who post in certain areas regularly), and to check up on your boards and listings on available computers.

Next up was eBay Live! 2003 in Orlando, Florida. As big and fantastic as Anaheim was, Orlando was double that. There were twice as many members, perhaps twice as many staff, lots of vendors with products to display, and tons of trinkets to bring home. To top if off, we all had a huge surprise when Weird Al Yankovic showed up to sing his eBay song!

The Pink Lounge the second time around was also twice as large as it was in Anaheim, and it was here where many members met our CEO, Meg Whitman! She spent a lot of time in there, signing autographs and visiting with members.

Now we are gearing up for the third annual eBay Live!. Mark your calendars for June 24 – 26th, 2004. Visit our eBay Live! 2004 Discussion Board to learn more about the event. You'll also find the discussion board is a great place to reminisce with others about the last two events, get travel tips from locals or other attendees, and share plans.

Tips for those of you who are thinking about going:

• Start shopping early to get the best airfares.
• Be sure to check the availability of hotels, motels, and bed-and-breakfast facilities near to the Convention Center.
• While you're in New Orleans ("The Big Easy"), make sure to check out the local attractions. To fit all your sightseeing in, you may want to stay over a day or two, or to come early.
• Talk to your friends and fellow board posters to find out where they are staying. (This is a grand opportunity to meet members you've emailed or posted with face-to-face!)
• Don't forget to bring your appetite, as New Orleans has some of the finest restaurants in the U.S.!

You are guaranteed to have lots in common with everyone who comes to eBay Live! 2004. After all, we are all eBay members and we all buy and sell here.

Remember, too, members come not only from the U.S. and Canada, but from all over the world. The people you meet may become good friends and good sources of information and advice as you decide to branch out in your own buying or selling.
