Welcome to this month's Chatter Member Spotlight. We'd like you to meet charlottesweb123.

charlottesweb123 began her eBay experience after purchasing a Christmas ornament on eBay in 2001 to replace one of her own that was broken. She continued with buying jewelry and other different items on eBay: "I am a very new collector and have eBay to thank for that. In trying to find unique and interesting items to sell I have become interested in old glass and pottery." She also told us how her buying on eBay eventually led to selling: "[I] had to start selling to pay for my eBay habit!"

Among the most unique items them were a Limoges baby warming-dish and a Fenton glass dish. She checks the site many times each day to monitor her listings and purchase shipping items and personal things she normally would have bought in a store. She also says uses eBay as a research tool for finding out the value of items she is not sure about.

charlottesweb123 said she lists items at a low starting point with no reserve. She prefers to let the bidders decide the fair value of all her items. She usually starts her auctions on Friday night and lets them run for 7 days. When we asked her what tips she would give to people out there who are selling or buying their items, she said, "I work hard at customer service. I ship out items the business day after payment has been received. If you are going to sell, you must be able to accept credit card payments. I have found PayPal very helpful for receiving payments."

charlottesweb123 told us she noticed that the higher her feedback rating gets the more hits she gets on her items. She said, "I really enjoy the feedback comments about my great customer service and careful shipping." Her favorite eBay feature/services are Turbo Lister and PayPal.

We asked charlottesweb123 if she participated in any of eBay's chat or discussion boards. She replied, "I have a few times. I visited a chat board to ask a question about how to handle an issue that had come up. I also have visited the antiques chat board. Again, I just needed some information that someone on the chat was able to help with. There is a lot of helpful information on them [eBay's Chat, Help, or Discussion boards]. Like how to load pictures and how to deal with unpleasant buyers and/or sellers."

We asked charlottesweb123 to give us a brief description of what eBay means to her and if her life changed since she began visiting eBay. Here is what she said:

"You bet it has [changed]!! I am an eBay addict. I have found that when I meet someone new and they have been on eBay, we have an instant connection. I always look on eBay before I buy anything anywhere else. eBay has allowed me to start a part-time business from home that is fun. I have even begun corresponding with some of my nicer customers."
