Opening a store is just the beginning. Make your Store investment work for you by following these guidelines:

1. Keep your store fully stocked and maintain a balance of auction-style and fixed-price listings.
Keep inventory up economically by listing 60-, 90-, and 120-day fixed price items. Each 30-day increment only costs 5 cents more.
List special "one-of-a-kind" items as auctions. These profit from competitive bidding and gather a crowd. Use them as a springboard to your Store where you can up-sell fixed-price items.

2. Build brand awareness for your store, which will build awareness for your larger business.
Plug your eBay Store at the bottom of every item description. "We have more great inventory & accessories you can BUY NOW from our eBay Store." Link to custom categories for targeted offers.
Include your Store URL in buyer email communications. "Thank you for shopping with us. Please visit us for new weekly products at http://www.stores.ebay.com/yourstorename."
Put your store URL and logo on your business cards and packing slips.
Include official eBay Store logos in your descriptions, linking to your Store.

3. Position your store as a professional and legitimate business.
Invest extra time in your "Store Policies" page. Buyers are most comfortable with merchants who provide clear, professional guidelines.
Create a professional, custom logo and "About the store" page that truly sells your business.
Name your store after your off-eBay business and advertise it in your eBay listings. This encourages eBay sales, as buyers generally prefer buying from established operations.

4. Reinvest in the growth of your store and business.
Offer Store promotions, such as free or discounted shipping on additional items bought from your Store that day.
Increase buyer traffic by upgrading your subscription to a Featured or Anchor Store on the eBay Stores homepage.
List charity auctions where some or all of the proceeds are given to the organization. Word of mouth from that organization can pay real dividends.
