Cross-Sell: Make the Most of Your Expertise
Specialization is an excellent idea, but don't let it limit your opportunities. If you have an expertise in a specific discipline, leverage that knowledge across multiple eBay categories. It's called cross-selling.
Here are some tips to get you started.
| Identify the best categories for your items and use the "List in 2 Categories" feature. eBay research has found it can increase final price by over 18%!* Learn more.
Consider selling how-to books and videos and price guides, related to your expertise. If you find the materials useful and interesting, so will other enthusiasts, not to mention your regular customers.
Consider a side business in practical or repeatable goods related to your higher-end items. For example -- if you sell Art reprints, try pairing them with other products such as frames, custom mattes, and so on.
If your two businesses are complimentary, keep one username and eBay Store for all products. This will allow you to up-sell.
Promote your cross-sell listings in related auction descriptions. As with the "view sellers other items" link, strike while the iron's hot.

Knowledge is power. Use your specialization to grow your business, not limit it.
