When it comes to crisp, vibrant images and sound, Blu-ray players help deliver the ultimate high-definition viewing experience to your HDTV. You'll find a tremendous selection of Blu-ray players on eBay, from popular brands such as Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, and Philips, as well as Blu-ray movies in the genres you love to watch.

Bring Home a Blu-ray Disc Player

Bring Home a Blu-ray Disc Player

From Blu-ray movies to DVDs, HD-DVDs, video games, and more, you can find Blu-ray players that support your favorite formats.

  • Blu-ray disc players: Blu-ray players use a blue-violet laser (which is how Blu-ray got its name) to play Blu-ray discs as well as standard DVDs (typically read by a red laser), so you won’t have to start your movie collection from scratch. Most play DVDs at a resolution of 480pwhile others may limit DVD playback to a lower resolution of 480i. Blu-ray movies play back in high-definition 1080p and look sharper.

  • Sony PlayStation 3: In addition to video games, the Sony PlayStation3 also plays Blu-ray movies.

Many Blu-ray players will also play back other file formats (for example, MP3 music or JPEG photos burned to DVD) or types of discs such as CDs, CD-Rs, and CD-RWs. Most sellers will tell you which formats and discs are supported by a Blu-ray player in the item listing. If you have questions, get them answered before bidding by clicking the "Ask seller a question" link under the seller's profile.

Add a Blu-ray Player to Your Home Theater

Some of the largest movie studios—Disney, Fox, Lionsgate, MGM, Paramount, Sony, and Warner Brothers—release old favorites and the latest movies on Blu-ray discs packed full of special features. In fact, Blu-ray discs can hold about nine hours of high-definition video on a standard 50GB Blu-ray disc, leaving a lot more room for extras than DVDs.

If your Blu-ray player will be part of an entire home theater setup, make sure you have the right outputs to support all of your other components, such as speakers. For the most flexibility, look for Blu-ray players with composite, S-video, component, analog audio, analog surround, digital audio coaxial, and digital audio optical outputs.

Buy Blu-ray Players With Confidence

Buy Blu-ray Players With Confidence

Before making your purchase, make sure you know exactly what you're buying, research your seller, and understand how eBay and PayPal protect you.

Know your purchase

Carefully read the details in item listings.

  • Figure delivery costs into your final price. If you spend a lot of money, make sure the seller will insure the item when it ships.

  • If you want more information, ask by clicking the "Ask seller a question" link under the seller's profile.

  • Always make sure to complete your transaction on eBay (with a bid, Buy It Now, or Best Offer). Transactions conducted outside of eBay are not covered by eBay protection programs.

  • Never pay for your eBay item using instant cash wire transfer services through Western Union or MoneyGram. These payment methods are unsafe when paying someone you do not know.

Know your seller

Research your seller so you feel positive and secure about every transaction.

  • What is the seller's Feedback rating? How many transactions have they completed? What percentage of positive responses do they have?

  • What do buyers say in their Feedback? Did the seller receive praise?

  • Most top eBay sellers operate like retail stores and have return policies. Do they offer a money-back guarantee? What are the terms and conditions?

Buyer protection

In the unlikely event that a problem arises during your transaction, eBay and PayPal are there for you.

  • Pay safely with PayPal: PayPal enables you to pay without the seller ever seeing your bank account or credit card numbers. In fact, PayPal protects buyers 100% against unauthorized payments from their accounts. Plus, with PayPal Buyer Protection, your purchase can be covered up to $2,000.

  • eBay Security & Resolution Center: Visit the Security & Resolution Center to learn how to protect your account and use eBay's quick and efficient resolution tools.
