Sellers Continue to Take Advantage of eBay's Co-Op Advertising Test Program
eBay's Co-Op Advertising Test Program continues to receive rave reviews! Participants who included their eBay store logo and URL in their print advertisements during a 6-month test period enjoyed many benefits, such as increased bids, sales, and conversion rates. And best of all -- eBay reimbursed sellers up to 25% of the cost of the ad!
Take a look at what Co-Op sellers are saying:
"Our involvement with the eBay Co-op Advertising Program was very successful on all fronts. And best of all, eBay paid us for our involvement!" - Louis Palafoutas, Superior Galleries
"I estimate that this program helped boost my profits by 20%, and it was so easy to take part in. You can be sure that I'll participate again." - Lee Crane, L&C Coins
Good news! eBay is recruiting eBay Store Owners to participate in its Co-Op Advertising Program. All you have to do is meet the following criteria:
- A PowerSeller with an account in good standing
- A seller who sells primarily in Collectibles, Coins, Stamps, Art, Antiques, or Pottery & Glass (and whose print ad features product sold within one of these categories)
- The owner of an eBay Store featuring at least 10 items
- Run an ad between April 1, 2003 - June 30, 2003

Inside Tips for Art Titles
Make the right first impression with the right listing title. Increase your art sales by giving your art listings accurate, descriptive titles that attract qualified bidders.
Use these insider tips to craft eye-catching Art titles every time:
- State exactly what your item is, even if your title repeats the category name
Examples: "Print," "Poster," "Painting," "Sculpture," etc.
- Include "Art" in your title. "Art" is consistently one of eBay's top five search terms.
- Use descriptive keywords that clearly convey what you are selling.
- Artist's name and title, if applicable (Monet, "Waterlillies")
- Medium (Oil, Watercolor, Woodcut, Bronze, etc.)
- Subject (Animal, Flowers, Landscape, etc.)
- Include keywords in your title that bidders might use to search for your item.
Examples: "Impressionist," "Vintage/Antique," "Pop Art," "No reserve," etc.
- Make intelligent use of your space. Bidders don't search for keywords like "Wow" or "Look."
Don't let bidders pass your listings byinspire them to click and bid!

 | global-art-brokers (879), Global Art Brokers
Offering Value-Added Service
|
Opening new markets not only requires hard work, but also offering potential customers value-added services. In this respect, PowerSeller Global Art Brokers is a leader.
Global Art Brokers arrived on eBay in 1997 with a fresh outlook. Instead of relying on old conventions, it devised new sales and service strategies for eBay buyers. The goal: impress this new market with added value and savings.
"We have purchased from real world galleries before and we wanted to improve on how they do business," says Mike Luciano, Global Art Broker's president and CEO, who has transitioned the company's gallery business online. "On eBay, we decided to treat our customers the way we would like to be treated."
That in mind, Luciano and company has tried increased convenience and eliminated hidden costs by including framing, matting, and shipping in the price of its pieces.
"When one walks into a gallery, they first get hit with the price of the art, then next is the framing and matting fee, and then lastly is the shipping fee," explains Luciano. "By the time they're done, their $2,000 lithograph has gone up to $3,500."
Another value-add for potential clients: Global's generous return policy. Customers can return most works for any reason within 72 hours.
"All the pieces we buy and sell are only the best quality and if they don't sell this week, they will sell the next week," says Luciano. "We would rather make happy return customers than unhappy 'we will not use you again' customers."
The company also appeals to eBay art buyers with its eBay Store and Buy It Now prices. "Many people have hectic lives and like to know the second they place a bid that the piece is theirs," says Luciano
Then, there's Global's certification approach, developed specifically for high-end online buyers. Global is one of a few eBay dealers who provides two certifications with each piece of art, one guaranteeing the work, the other the signature. When selling a $50,000 Max or Tarkay, says Luciano, that value-add pays off.
Finally, Luciano leverages eBay's Private Auction format to protect its buyers' privacy and business, not to mention its own customer list.
"We have many galleries who buy from us and resell our pieces at higher prices," he explains. "These clients requested that we protect their information."
