Why is eBay retiring Accounting Assistant?
eBay Accounting Assistant did not deliver the capabilities requested by our sellers. After careful evaluation, we have decided to retire the product.

When will Accounting Assistant be retired?
All Accounting Assistant subscriptions will be ended on June 30, 2010. Accounting Assistant will not be available after this time.

Can I still access Accounting Assistant?
If you have an existing subscription, you can still access Accounting Assistant until June 30, 2010. New subscriptions cannot be supported.

What alternatives do I have for a bookkeeping program specifically for my eBay sales?
If you're looking for an alternative program for managing transaction history and fees information, consider either Intuit QuickBooks Connect or Outright. These third-party applications automatically capture and store your eBay transaction history, including sales and expenses, eBay and PayPal fees, and help you prepare for taxes. You can subscribe to these applications at the Apps Center. (Note: You will need Intuit QuickBooks application subscription along with Intuit QuickBooks Connect.)

How do I retrieve my eBay transaction history?
You can get your transaction history from eBay or PayPal at any time. You can download this information as a comma-delimited or tab-delimited file, and then open it using any spreadsheet program, such as Microsoft Excel. You can also upload the file into your bookkeeping or accounting solution, such as Quicken or QuickBooks.

There are a couple of ways to download your information:
  • Download 90 days of transaction history using eBay File Exchange. File Exchange is free – subscribe today.
  • Download up to seven years of transaction information through PayPal’s History Log. Learn more.

How can I subscribe to File Exchange?
Follow these steps to subscribe to eBay’s free File Exchange program:
  1. Go to Sell > Seller Tools from the top of any eBay page.
  2. Click on File Exchange under the Seller Tools list on the left. The File Exchange page appears.
  3. Click on the Sign Up Now! button and agree to the terms of use.
To access your File Exchange subscription, go to My eBay and click the Account tab. File Exchange appears under My Subscriptions on the left.

I subscribe to Selling Manager or Selling Manager Pro. How do I get access to File Exchange?
If you have a subscription to Selling Manager or Selling Manager Pro, you have access to the File Management Center, which is a variation of File Exchange. You can download your transaction history from the File Management Center.

How can I import my eBay transaction history using File Exchange (or File Management Center)?
Follow these steps to import your eBay transaction history using File Exchange:
  1. Go to your File Exchange subscription under My Subscriptions in the Account tab in My eBay. If you’re a Selling Manager or Selling Manager Pro subscriber, go to File Management Center in the “Seller Tools” section on the left side of the Selling Manager summary page.
  2. Click the Download Files link in the Download section on the left.
  3. From the Listings and Records list, select the transaction information you want to download.

  8. Return to File Exchange and download your report.
How can I get my eBay transaction history through PayPal?
PayPal offers two options to download transaction history:
  • PayPal’s History Log: The History Log keeps a record of all your PayPal transactions, including your fees and refunds. You can download your transaction history into Quicken, QuickBooks, or as a comma-delimited or tab-delimited file. Learn how.
  • PayPal transaction report: PayPal’s daily transaction reports provide detailed transaction information for eBay items paid for with PayPal. You can download transaction history as a .csv file and import it into your financial accounting application. To obtain access to PayPal transaction reports, contact your PayPal account manager. You can also call PayPal customer support at 1-888-221-1161 or get help online. (Note – transactions reports are available only through FTP.)

Can I export my transaction history directly from Accounting Assistant?
