Beth Axelrod
Senior Vice President, Human Resources, eBay
 
As senior vice president of human resources at eBay, Beth Axelrod is responsible for all aspects of the company’s global human resources capabilities including recruiting, learning and development, compensation, benefits and the continuing evolution of the company’s corporate culture.

Prior to joining eBay, Beth was chief talent officer at WPP Group, one of the world’s leading communications services groups, responsible for the recruitment, development and retention of WPP staff worldwide. Before WPP, she was a principal with McKinsey & Company where she was co-leader of the firm's global organization and leadership practice.

Beth received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a concentration in finance from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, and a Master of Private and Public Management from Yale University.
William C. Cobb
President, eBay North America

As president of eBay North America, Bill Cobb oversees the marketing, strategic planning, and business development for all of eBay's North American businesses. This includes responsibility for the strategy and marketing behind the eBay.com, eBay Canada, and eBay Motors business units.

Formerly senior vice president of eBay International, Bill oversaw strategic planning, development, and operations for eBay's businesses and investments around the world.

Bill joined eBay in November 2000 as senior vice president of global marketing, responsible for eBay's branding and marketing activities worldwide, including advertising, promotions, direct marketing, partner relationships, business development, and Internet marketing.

Prior to eBay, Bill held a number of key positions at PepsiCo. First, as vice president of new business, he was responsible for new products, joint ventures and acquisitions for the soft drink division. His accomplishments include the launch of All Sport Body Quencher, Aquafina Water, and the Pepsi/Starbucks Coffee partnership for ready-to-drink coffee products.

Also at PepsiCo, Bill was the senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Pizza Hut, the world's largest pizza chain and third largest restaurant chain. Most recently he served as senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Tricon Restaurants International, a PepsiCo spin-off, where he was responsible for marketing the Kentucky Fried Chicken, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell brands internationally.

Bill has a Bachelor of Science from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a Master of Business Administration from the Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management.


John Donahoe
President, eBay Marketplaces

As president of eBay Marketplaces, John Donahoe is responsible for the growth of eBay around the world. In that capacity, John oversees strategic and financial planning, marketing, operations, product development and business development for the eBay North America and eBay International businesses.

Prior to joining eBay, John served as worldwide managing director of Bain & Company, a global consulting firm, where he oversaw Bain’s 29 offices and 3,000 employees worldwide. During his career at Bain, John served clients in the telecommunications, airlines, aerospace and financial services industries. Prior to that, John worked for the Rolm Corporation, a telecommunications equipment company, and Salomon Brothers, now a part of Citigroup Inc.

John serves on the Board of Trustees of Dartmouth College and the Advisory Board of the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He is also a Trustee of Sacred Heart High School in Atherton, California and an Advisory Board member of Backroads, an active travel company.

John received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Dartmouth College and a Master of Business Administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.


Rajiv Dutta
President, PayPal

As President of PayPal, Rajiv Dutta is responsible for building PayPal into the global standard for digital payments. PayPal enables any individual or business with an email address to send and receive payments online securely, easily and quickly. In 2006, PayPal is on a run rate to process more than $35 billion in total payment volume.
 
Prior to joining PayPal, Mr. Dutta was President of Skype, eBay's online voice communications business. Skype is the world's fastest-growing Internet communication company, allowing unlimited free voice, video and instant messaging communication between Skype users. With over 136 million registered users, Skype is available in 27 languages and is used in almost every country around the world.
 
Mr. Dutta joined Skype from eBay, where he was Chief Financial Officer. During his tenure as CFO, eBay's market capitalization increased six-fold, revenue grew from $750 million to $4.5 billion, and the employee base grew from just under 2,000 to nearly 12,000 employees. Mr. Dutta also served as Chief Strategy Officer for the company and led the New Ventures Group, which oversaw eBay's entry into the global classifieds market and the acquisition of Shopping.com. Mr. Dutta joined eBay in 1998.
 
Prior to eBay, Mr. Dutta was the worldwide sales controller for KLA-Tencor, overseeing the sales finance function for the company's global operations. Prior to KLA-Tencor, Mr. Dutta spent 10 years at Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc., where he held a variety of positions including group controller of the Life Science Group, the largest manufacturing group in the company.
 
Mr. Dutta received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with honors from St. Stephen's College, Delhi University in India, and a Master of Business Administration from the Drucker School of Management, Claremont Graduate School, California.
 

Henry Gomez
President, Skype

Henry Gomez is President of Skype, the global Internet communications company. As part of Skype's leadership team, Henry serves as a key advisor to Skype CEO, Niklas Zennström, and as Skype's principal liaison to eBay and PayPal.
 
Henry joined Skype in November 2005 as general manager for Skype North America. He built Skype's U.S. and Canadian business operations from scratch before becoming the company's Chief Marketing Officer and Director of Country Operations in July 2006. In that position, Henry was responsible for Skype's brand and product marketing, local promotions, global public relations, and business development.
 
Prior to his roles at Skype, Henry was Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications and Government Relations at eBay Inc., Skype's parent company. He joined eBay in early 2000 and eventually held global responsibilities for public relations, community development, internal communications, and government relations.
 
Prior to joining eBay, Henry was Vice President, Corporate Affairs for Home Box Office (HBO), the premium television network, where he oversaw all aspects of the network's corporate public relations, affiliate marketing communications, regional press initiatives, and special events. Henry began his career at the public relations firm of Hill and Knowlton, Inc. and later moved to Ogilvy Adams & Rinehart. While at these firms, Henry worked with clients such as PepsiCo, Procter & Gamble, Playboy Enterprises, American Airlines, Scott Paper Company, AT&T, and Ford Motor Company. Henry holds a Bachelor of Arts from Boston College.
 

Michael Jacobson
Senior Vice President and General Counsel, eBay

As senior vice president and general counsel at eBay, Mike Jacobson's responsibilities include overseeing eBay's legal department, its risk management program, and its policy group. He is responsible for interactions with content regulators, law enforcement, contracts, SEC compliance, and other legal matters.

Prior to eBay, Mike was a partner with Cooley Godward LLP where he was recognized as an expert in securities law. His responsibilities included corporate and securities transactions, including mergers and acquisition transactions, public offerings, and venture capital financing.

Mike earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Magna Cum Laude, in 1975 from Harvard College, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He subsequently received his law degree from Stanford University in 1981, where he was a Nathan Abbot Scholar and a member of Order of the Coif. He also received the Hilmer Oehlmann Jr. award as well as first and second year honors.


Lorrie Norrington
President, eBay International

As President of eBay International, Lorrie Norrington oversees the strategic and financial planning, marketing, operations, product development and business development for eBay’s international businesses. This includes eBay’s network of sites in Europe and Asia Pacific, as well as eBay’s Classifieds businesses.

Prior to eBay International, Lorrie was president and CEO of Shopping.com, eBay’s online comparison shopping business. She joined Shopping.com in June 2005 after spending four years at Intuit Inc. At Intuit, Lorrie first served as Intuit’s Executive Vice President of small businesses and personal finance, where she led the company’s QuickBooks, Small Business Services, Payroll, and Quicken brands. She then was a member of the office of the CEO, responsible for operations, verticals and all non-US businesses.

Before joining Intuit, Lorrie spent 20 years at GE in a variety of global roles in the information services, medical systems, industrial systems and financial services businesses. Most recently Lorrie served as President and CEO of GE FANUC, a global manufacturing automation solutions business.

Lorrie holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Maryland and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. She is on the Advisory Board of the Catalyst Group.


Pierre Omidyar
Founder and Chairman of the Board, eBay

As founder and chairman of eBay, Pierre Omidyar changed the face of Internet commerce in 1995 when he launched eBay to experiment how equal access to information and opportunities would affect the efficiency of a marketplace. Ten years later, his experiment continues to prove the benefits of a level playing field: hundreds of thousands of members make their living entirely on eBay, more than 150 million people trust strangers with every transaction, and people find common ground where none seemed to exist before.

When Pierre launched eBay as a hobby, his "day job" was conducting developer relations for General Magic. Prior to General Magic, he co-founded Ink Development Corp., which was renamed eShop and acquired by Microsoft. His career began in the software engineering business as a developer for Claris, a subsidiary of Apple Computer, where he worked on consumer applications.

Today, Pierre is co-founder and founding partner of Omidyar Network, a mission-based organization that he established in 2004 with his wife, Pam. Committed to unleashing human potential, Omidyar Network uses a broad toolset to build and sustain environments that enable individuals to improve their lives economically, socially and politically.

In addition to his roles with eBay and Omidyar Network, Pierre serves as a Trustee of Tufts University and Santa Fe Institute, and a Director of Meetup Inc.

Pierre graduated from Tufts University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science in computer science.


Bob Swan
Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer, eBay

As senior vice president, finance and chief financial officer at eBay, Bob Swan is responsible for all aspects of eBay's finance function including controllership, financial planning and analysis, tax, treasury, audit, mergers and acquisitions, and investor relations.

Prior to joining eBay, Bob was CFO and executive vice president at Electronic Data Systems Corporation (EDS). With financial responsibility for a global organization with revenues of more than $20 billion and 117,000 employees, Bob oversaw the controllership, treasury, tax, investor relations, audit, planning, mergers and acquisitions, supply chain management and corporate administrative functions for EDS.

Prior to EDS, Swan served as CFO and executive vice president at TRW, Inc. Bob also held executive-level positions at Webvan Group, Inc., providing him with valuable Silicon Valley experience. He began his career with General Electric (GE) in 1985 and spent 15 years in a variety of positions, including corporate audit staff and CFO at GE Transportation Systems and GE Medical Systems-Europe. He left GE in 1999 as vice president of finance and CFO of GE Lighting.

Bob received a Bachelor of Science in business administration from The State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo. He also received a Master of Business Administration from SUNY Binghamton.


Meg Whitman
President and CEO, eBay

As president and CEO of eBay since March 1998, Meg Whitman has led the company to become an unparalleled global ecommerce engine. Meg’s expertise in brand building, combined with her consumer technology experience, has helped eBay evolve into a leading company that is reshaping online commerce, payments and communications around the world.

Prior to eBay, Meg was general manager of Hasbro Inc.'s Preschool Division, responsible for global management and marketing of two of the world's best-known children's brands, Playskool and Mr. Potato Head. During her tenure, Meg oversaw the reorganization of the Preschool Division and its resulting return to profitability. From 1995 to 1997, Meg was president and chief executive officer of Florists Transworld Delivery (FTD), the world's largest floral products company. While at FTD, she oversaw its transition from a florist-owned association to a for-profit, privately owned company.

Before FTD, Meg served as president of the Stride Rite Corporation's Stride Rite Division where she was responsible for the launch of the highly successful Munchkin baby shoe line and the repositioning of the Stride Rite brand and retail stores. She has also held the positions of executive vice president for the Keds Division and corporate vice president of strategic planning. Meg spent 1989 to 1992 at the Walt Disney Company, highlighted by her work as senior vice president of marketing for the Disney Consumer Products Division. She also worked for eight years at Bain & Company’s San Francisco office where she was a vice president. Meg began her career at Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati where she worked in brand management from 1979 to 1981.

Among Meg’s many accolades, The Wall Street Journal named her one of the 50 women to watch in 2005; Time named her one of the world’s 100 most influential people in 2004 and 2005; Fortune ranked her the most powerful woman in business in 2005 and the most powerful woman in American business in 2004; and BusinessWeek has included her on its list of the 25 most powerful business managers annually since 2000.

Meg is on the Board of Directors of Procter & Gamble and DreamWorks Animation. Meg received a Bachelor of Economics from Princeton University and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.


Niklas Zennström
CEO and Co-Founder, Skype

As CEO and co-founder of Skype, Niklas Zennström is responsible for setting the strategy and overseeing the business for Skype around the world.
 
Niklas co-founded Skype in 2003 to offer consumers worldwide a free software for making superior-quality calls using their computers. Skype has since expanded its offering for the major computing platforms, including Linux, MAC & PC and mobile & handheld devices.
 
Prior to Skype, Niklas founded and served as CEO at Joltid, a software company that develops and markets peer-to-peer (P2P) solutions and traffic optimization technologies for service providers. Niklas also co-founded and served as CEO of KaZaA, a consumer file-sharing software company, and co-founded Altnet, a peer-to-peer digital content distribution company. Prior to that, Niklas was CEO of the European everyday.com portal, and held various business development roles at get2net. He started his professional career at Tele2 with the goal of expanding the business footprint across Europe. Tele2 is now the leading consumer-oriented pan-European telecommunications operator.
 
Niklas holds dual degrees in business and MSc engineering physics/computer science from Uppsala University in Sweden. He spent his final year at the University of Michigan.
