Package Insurance

Encourage sellers to offer insurance for U.S. Postal Service shipping services. Shipping insurance protects your new purchase against loss or damage en route. Insurance may be purchased online or at a Post Office™. Coverage through eBay's online postage is available up to $500 (only available for domestic services). Domestic coverage is available up to $5,000 at Post Offices and on USPS.com®. International coverage is available up to $5,000 at Post Offices and up to $500 on USPS.com**. Note that the International Small Priority Mail Flat Rate™ Box and Flat Rate Envelopes are not insurable.

How to File an Insurance Claim

Recover the value of lost or damaged articles by filing an insurance claim at any Post Office.
