Pre-filled Item Information is an optional feature that makes listing in many subcategories of Books, Movies, Music and Video Games easier. Sellers in these select categories can use ISBN and UPC codes, as well as keywords, to pull up stock listing information on items. They can then select content, including stock photos, item descriptions, and supplemental information (like song lists, movie descriptions, etc.) that can be added to listings automatically! 2. Who can use Pre-filled Item Information? We are initially making this feature available to US sellers who list items in many subcategories of Books, Movies, Music and Video Games. In the future, we may offer Pre-filled Item Information in additional categories. We will also be releasing this feature to the UK and German sites in November of 2003. In the UK, this feature will be available in many Movies and Music categories. In Germany, this feature will be available in many subcategories of Books, Movies, Music and Video Games. 3. Why is eBay introducing the Pre-filled Item Information feature? eBay is introducing this feature to make the listing process in the Books, Movies, Music and Video Games categories even easier. 4. Will eBay Seller Tools and other third-party tools support this feature once it is on the eBay.com site? Yes, eBay Seller Tools (such as Turbo Lister, Selling Manager, etc.) will support Pre-filled Item Information in several weeks following the feature's release. We expect other third-party tools to do so as well. 5. What if I want to use the Pre-filled Item Information feature, but either I can't find the item I am trying to sell, or the information about it is wrong? If you are asked whether you would like to list using Pre-filled Item Information but cannot find the item you are trying to sell, you can always go back and list using the standard Sell Your Item form. If the information we display about the product you are trying to sell is incorrect for your item, you should not use the Pre-filled Item Information feature for that particular product. You can either try again to identify the right product with the correct information, or you can go back and list using the Standard Sell Your Item form. Occasionally, you may find that some of the details in the information that is pre-filled into your listing is wrong (e.g. if the Release Year is incorrect). We encourage you to let us know that there is an error, so that we can correct it. To report an error in the pre-filled information, simply click on the "send us feedback" link on the right hand side of the Title and Description page within the Sell Your Item form. 6. Can I upload my own image and include a stock photo within the same listing? Will the first EPS picture still be free even if I use a stock photo? Yes, in fact we encourage sellers to include their own image(s) within their listing in addition to using the stock photo that we may have provided. This will show buyers more information about the specific condition of the item for sale. Sellers who use both will see their own pictures in the same locations on the View Item page as they do today. Sellers who include a stock photo in their listing will continue to receive their first EPS picture free! 7. If I only include the stock photo within my listing, can I use that image as my Gallery image? Yes, if you only include a stock photo in your listing, you can use that image as your Gallery image. What's more--if you uploaded your own image(s) of your item and also included the stock photo, you can choose whether you would like to use the stock photo or your own picture as your Gallery image. 8. Are there any plans to charge for use of the Pre-filled Item Information feature? Pre-filled Item Information is completely free. There are currently no plans to charge for the use of this feature. 9. What if I do not want to use this new feature? Every time you list in categories for which this feature is available, we will provide you with the option to use Pre-filled Item Information or to list the standard way as you do today. |
