Essential keys to searching
Search using:
- BRAND NAME
- Keyword description (Shirt, Pants)
- Size
- Color
- Acronyms: Use these abbreviations to include as much information in your title as possible.

Need to narrow your search?
Elminate unwanted search results by narrowing your search.
Simply go to Clothing & Accessories then search within a subcategory.
For example, if you want a woman's black purse, go to Clothing & Accessories, click the subcategory "Women", then click "Accessories", then "Handbags. Once you are in the Handbags subcategory, check the box that says "Search only in Accessories : Handbags" and type "black purse."
Use Advanced Search Tips
- Search for exact phrases using quotation marks (" ").
For example, type "ankle boots" into the search box. Your results will show exactly those words, in that order, in the title.
- Exclude certain words using the minus sign (-)
For example, type red sweater -wool into the search box. Your results will have listings with titles that contain the word "red" and word "sweater" but not the word "wool".
- Use parentheses to search for multiple terms. Separate each term with a comma.
For example, enter skirt (green, teal) into the search box. Your results will show items with titles that have the word "skirt" in it and either the word "green" or "teal."

Want more item matches?
Use synonyms
Find more items by using synonyms (words that mean the same thing as the item you're searching for). For example, instead of searching for sweater, search for sweater, cardigan, or pullover.
Search titles and descriptions
Many more items will likely appear if you search both the title and description for each item. Just click on the option to "search titles and descriptions" under the search box.
Smart Search 
When you use Smart Search, you receive a list of the top categories in which your search results appear. You can click on any of these categories to further refine your search.

- Learn about other related categories where the item you searched for is being sold.

Use Favorite Searches.
If you can't seem to find your item, consider storing your search criteria in My eBay's "Favorite Searches" so eBay can notify you when a similar item is listed. Click here to learn more.

Many experienced sellers are highlighted throughout the site. Look for these
sellers in the Spotlight's On section of the Clothing Home Page and in the
"Featured Sellers" section of the Designer Boutique and the Fashion Outlet Mall.
