Saving and Deleting Your Favorite Searches

If you frequently search for the same items on eBay, you can save those searches to your Favorite Searches page in My eBay, and then search for those items whenever you choose. Saving your Favorite Searches saves you time because you don’t have to re-enter the same information again and again.

You can also access up to three of your most recently added Favorite Searches on the Home page, under the search box.

You can save a Basic Search, an Advanced Search, or even a Want It Now search.

Once you save a Favorite Search, you can:

Saving a Favorite Search

You can save up to 100 of your Favorite Searches. When saving your search, you can choose to have new results sent to you by email. You'll be notified by email only when new items are listed, and you will receive up to 20 results per email.

To save a Favorite Search:
  1. Search for an item using a Basic Search, an Advanced Search, or a Want It Now search.

  2. From your search results, click the “Save this search” link located above your search results.

  3. In the Name this search text box, keep the suggested search name or enter a new name for your search.

  4. If you'd like to receive email notification when new items are listed, select the length of time that you'd like to receive the email notifications from the drop-down list. (The check box for receiving email notification is selected by default.) For example, to receive an email of new listings every day for the next 6 months, select the check box and choose 6 months.

  5. Click the Save button. Your search is saved to your Favorite Searches in My eBay.

Editing a Favorite Search

If you want to change the search criteria of a Favorite Search, you can do so at any time. For example, you might want to change the search name, turn email notification on or off, or to change the length of time that you receive email notification.

To edit a Favorite Search:
  1. Go to My eBay.

  2. On the left side of the page, under All Favorites, click the "Searches" link.

  3. Find the search you want to edit, and click the “Edit Search” link from the drop-down menu to the right of the search.

  4. Edit the information as needed.

  5. Click the Save button.

If you would prefer to hide your Favorite Searches on the Home page, you can disable this feature.

Go to My eBay, and click the "Preferences" link under My Account on the left side of the page. Scroll down to the General Preferences section, and click the "Show" link next to My eBay. Clear the check box next to the "Show my Favorite Searches on the home page search area" option, and click the Apply button.

Deleting a Favorite Search

You can delete a Favorite Search if you no longer need it or if you want to replace it with another one.

To delete a Favorite Search:
  1. Go to My eBay.

  2. On the left side of the page, under All Favorites, click the "Searches" link.

  3. Select the check box next to the search that you want to delete.
